I've been checking out Charles. Initially drawn to the Charles, Elizabeth and Ann Elizabeth on the '71 Census. But finding it difficult to join the dots!.

Charles Jones and Elizabeth are in Abbott Street in 1861.
He is a stone mason..b Wrexham. Same as 1871.

We need the dots 😆

James, Ann and Charles (22 and unmarried) are at Sontley Cottages in '61.
I had been looking for a Richard Jones, married post '61 Census. I hadn't checked the '71 Census find against the '61 Census. So, you've ruled out Charles the stonemason.

I'm wondering if Charles, the stone mason in 1871, is the same Charles with no occupation (just a series of lines) in 1861. I've looked for a parish marriage but no luck so far.  Also, Charles  is b. Wrexham  in 1871 rather than Ruabon (given in 1861)

I assume that James was born Bangor on Dee?

Have you found Ann on the 1871 census?

Can you tell us any more  of what you know about the family, especially Charles.

Nothing on Charles after 1861 cenus

Ann in 1871 is living on her own in 1871 aged 75 born 1796 living Wrexham.

There is a burial record for Ann 12 January 1876 Wrexham aged 76 years

How do you know that James and Ann are your 2xgrt grandparents? If you can't find Charles after 1861, then who are you descended from?
