Valuation Rolls Scotlands People
« on: Wednesday 28 December 22 16:35 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Valuation Rolls format appears to have been changed on Scotlands People.  Previously, I used to type in the address of the property and the name of the tenant etc would appear. The names of the tenant did not need to be typed in.  If I type in the address now, it brings up no result.  Streets have been eliminated from the records.  Any ideas?

Still behaving the same for me, i.e. when I type in the name of a street it produces a list of tenants/occupiers with their house numbers.

Are you searching the same year(s) as before? Because in the earlier ones, small properties were not individually itemised.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi,

I have just tried Scotland's People Valuation rolls - all I keyed in under place was glendoune and chose 1935 at random.....7 pages of results came up.

I am putting Glendoune Street, Girvan into the Place box and the above is coming up no matter what year I put in

That's odd -
I've tried again with 1915 and this time there are 29 pages of results.
Try signing out then signing back in again (clutching at straws  ::))

Just noticed there is no option still on the address line for wildcards for spellings which is a pity  :-\

Yes - agree with Monica - don't put Girvan in the place box.
