Church records Llandeilo’r fan
« on: Friday 30 December 22 23:39 GMT (UK) »
Shwd mae.
Can anybody point me in the right direction for the Llandeilo’r fan church baptism/marriage/burial records?
I have got as far as Thomas Jones (born about 1740), Caegarw buried 29/10/1818 married to Margaret, but I’m hoping to go back a little further.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Diolch

Bore da!
There might be something of use on the Genuki website:

https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/BRE/Llandeilorfan

Another site I've found useful is the National Library of Wales, where they have newspaper articles, tithe maps with apportionments etc.

https://www.library.wales/

The availability of Welsh PRs is a bit patchy I'm afraid but there are some treasures to be found if you keep digging!

Hwyl!

I found a COMPLETE  copy of the burials recorded on the burial monuments at Llanfihangel Nant Bran (the next Parish to LLandelo'r fan) that had been compiled by Gareth Jones. I am sure Gareth compiled the same list for Llandeilo'r Fan.

While I copied the pages for Llanfihangel Nant Bran, and still have them, you might find a reference to Gareth at the Breconshire Family and Local Historical Society https://www.blfhs.co.uk/

Cheers.

I also have the entries for the Bishop's Transcripts for Llandeilo'r Fan transcribed by Kyle Williams. They aren't available to the public but I will be glad to search them for you.. Kyle copied the entries from the BT's at the Library of Wales so they can corroborate them if tyou want. Kyle's transcript start in 1714 and end in 1815

There are 287 records for various Jones's in Kyle's records. I searched around the 1740 dates and found the following that might be of interest.

Christening:  Landeilo’r Vane 1742
