Haberfield of Walton
« on: Saturday 31 December 22 14:14 GMT (UK) »
I am having difficulty getting further back regarding the family of Ann Haberfield born Walton 1809. She married Robert Fowls in Walton on the 4th Oct 1830. Ann was a washerwoman. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Mark

How sure are you that she was born 1809?

There is a baptism in Walton for an Ann Haberfield 1 May 1803, parents Jane and John.

Hi many thanks. Holy Trinity Church at Street Find a Grave give her burial date as 5/6/1895 aged 85 and so it would appear not to be her unless the date was recorded incorrectly.

Thank you again, Mark

The 1803 Ann appears to be buried 22 Aug 1804 same parents

JOHN/JANE Haberfield  (Jane nee NORTON, married 1798) Bapt;
Frances 1799
Ann 1803, died 1804
John 1806
Lucy 1813

Plenty of room there for them to have another Ann c 1809

A John Haberfield was a witness to the marriage of Ann to Robert Fowls 1830 (Brother or Father?)

A Ann HEBERFIELD was a witness to John Haberfields marriage 1826

Burial 31 Mar 1838 for John Haberfield age 62 (1776)

All on FreeREG

Trish :)

EDIT;
Possible for Jane in Walton in 1841;
Jane Haberfield 60 Ind
William Haberfield 20

Yes is her as married Daug Lucy is next door (Marriage on F/S Feb 1841 to Robert Taylor)

As Robert/Ann name children Jane 1833 and John 1835 I think the parents mentioned by emeltom originally are very likely.

Thank you for your excellent digging.Not uncommon for deceased children's name to be re-used and so as you say very possible. Do you think the Ann 1809 was possibly not christened and that is the reason she does not show or possibly lost or not recorded? I suppose my only other hope would be details on their wedding records, although I understand ages were not always accurate. Thank you once again. Mark

I think it is very possible the records are lost or she was not bapt as you say.

Thank you and it seems logical that the name Ann was reused within the family. I hadn't thought of that when I was searching for a different entry. Once again thank you for taking the trouble to help.  Mark
