More really great information there.  Thank you very much again Kiltaglassan. Lots to get my teeth into!

.....and here are a couple more deaths:

John Patrick Mullally on 14 April 1925. He was described as an imbecile on the 1911 census, and he died at Carlow Mental Hospital from tuberculosis of the lungs.

James Mullalley on 29 July 1925 at Kildare Infirmary. He was a 14-year old schoolboy and his father Henry was the informant.

Many thanks for those additional records Kiltaglassan. Two tragic young deaths there and also when you think about the sort of terminology used to describe people on census records back then e.g., 'imbeciles' etc., it just seems so alien and uncomfortable to us in relation to how we view the world in the 21st century.

I was just chatting to one of the Mullally's, she descends from Henry, Mary Margaret's brother, she doesn't have any photos of Patrick O'Connor and family but knows a little about them.
I have a contact address for her now and will get in touch during the week and let you know.

Thank you once again Kiltaglassan for those fabulous documents on Family Search for me to follow up. That's so wonderful!  And thank you Sinann for your note regarding the descendant of Mary Margaret's brother.  I would be absolutely delighted to hear from her - I have photos and family stories I would love to share with her.  I look forward to hearing from you during the week.  Regards Runner55

Just to add to my thread regarding my grandmother's cousin, Patrick O'Connor, I have this picture taken c.1940s in Dublin of the said Pat O'Connor and a friend.  We think our Pat is the man in civvies (as the name is written under his image) ... so this seems perfectly obvious but we're not entirely sure. We know that cousin Pat signed up for army service again as an officer in the Irish Defence Forces during The Emergency, so keeping an open mind on which one might be him.

If this helps to jog anyone's recollections, would love to hear from you.

Regards
