Hello Leumascot and welcome to RootsChat.

other thread mentioned is here for anyone interested:

Just to mention that looking at FreeReg, I see that the baptisms of William and Ann's children at St Cuthbert, Wells have William's occupation as "carrier" not "currier", and of Grope Lane. Does it definitely say "currier" on the marriage certificate?

Also, I'm assuming the birth of c1820 for James comes from his age at marriage and death? What does it say for each of those?  :)

I have just checked the baptisms for the children at St Cuthbert's and there are images for 4 of them on Ancestry - definitely 'currier'. The one without an image and just a transcript is Sarah Giblett's baptism which says 'carrier'.

Giblett, Burnett, Pippet, Baker, Chipperfield, Broadhurst, Rogers, Grindrod, Elsbury, Pusey, Spencer, May, Trenerry, Johns, Roberts, Stewart, Ross, Anderson, McIntosh, Highgate, Henderson, Ferre, Guerrier.

other documents created while he was alive have his birthplace as Wells, Somersetshire or just Somersetshire. These documents include Eliza Ann's birth certificate, Eliza Emma or Mary Emma's birth certificate and Mary Ellen's birth certificate.

Ah, that's great. Was he the informant on the birth certificates, or the mother, or someone else? Information supplied by himself is likely to be more accurate.  :)

As you said at the outset, he death certificate is unfortunately lacking in detail - so frustrating isn't it.

He was the informant on 2 certificates - one that said 'Wells, England' and one that said 'Somersetshire'.
