Annie Woodworth Birth Details
« on: Thursday 05 January 23 17:39 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find the birth registration of Annie Woodworth born in Cheshire, the daughter of James Woodworth and his wife Emily Greaves.
The only information i can find is in the 1921 register she is listed as living with her father at 315 Chester Rd Hulme. She is 8 years and 10 months old.
In the 1939 register she is living with John and Bertha Pimlott at 153 Kings Rd. She is listed as age 27.
Probate has her listed as passing 18 Jul 1954. She is buried at the Southern Cemetery in a plot with her father .
I can not find her birth registered in 1912 in FreeBMD or the GRO.
Just to add to the confusion there are two Woodworth brothers who married two Greaves sisters at around the same time.
I am not sure what resources to check.
Thank you

Hello Rosie,
thanks for your reply.
No, after researching i found that Annette Marie and Dorothy Allison are twin daughters born to Robert and Ada Woodworth. As i said this is where it gets tricky. Robert is the brother of James Woodworth and Ada the sister of his wife Emily.

Hmm, this is quite an interesting one...

I find it strange that Annie's parents, James and Emily, were living separately on the 1921 census. Obviously, this is just a snapshot of one particular day, but they do not appear to be visiting anyone and both James and Emily are enumerated as the 'heads' of their respective households. Annie is actually living next door to Robert and Ada Woodworth.

The last confirmed birth to this couple seems to be Elizabeth in 1901, an 11-year gap.

Just as an aside, do you know Annie's connection to John and Bertha Pimlott? Not only is she living with them in 1939, the administration of Annie's estate was granted to Bertha in 1955.

Queen,
That's what started the whole search for Annie, John Thomas Pimlott is my great grandfather and he was buried in a plot with his second wife Bertha who it seems must have had a close relationship with Annie as John, Bertha, James and Annie are all in the plot. Also Annie's probate was awarded to Bertha when Annie passed in 1954 and she was living with John and Bertha at the time.
I have been looking at this for some time and are non the wiser hence my request to greater minds in here.

I see. I didn't realise that all 4 of them were buried in the same plot; your original post just mentions that Annie was buried in a plot with her father.

So Emily Woodworth was not buried with her husband? The fact that James and Emily were not living together and are seemingly not even buried in the same plot makes me wonder whether they had separated.

Perhaps James and Bertha had a daughter together.

Dundee,
That is interesting and would explain the connection to Bertha. Annie must have changed her last name if that it the case.
Something to look at.
Cheers
