Hi,

Can anyone help me with this. I have an ancester by the name of Joseph Boot, I believe he married a Charlotte Harris 1788 in Stokenchurch Oxfordshire (then).

I am looking for confirmation of this marriage so any help would be appreciated. I have searched on Ancestry, Family Search and Find My Past but to no avail.

Hi I found the information on a family tree on Ancestry without any documnetation attached. This is why I want to confirm that this information is correct.

In the absence of any documentary evidence online I would recommend you contact the tree owner to ask where they got the info from.

You will find lots of warnings on Rootschat about info in other peoples trees - much is assumption rather than fact.

I have messaged the tree owners (as it appears in several trees) but I am still waiting for a response.
I agree that the information we see in Ancestry's family trees can be based on assumptions, this is why I want to prove or disprove this marriage.

I would still want to see the entry in the Register but at least it appears bona fide.
