What history!
« on: Sunday 08 January 23 17:14 GMT (UK) »
My mum has just given me a pile of old newspapers and magazines, including coronation programmes from the Queens coronation, her fathers coronation. There was also a paper published on the day after the war ended, and a souvenir paper from Princess Mary’s wedding. Lots of other old papers and magazines, I need to sort through them properly.

I always remember my gran talking about Princess Mary, she said the poor girl never smiled again after she was married to Henry Lascelles.

What amazing pieces of history  :)

Oh my!  Definitely worth treasuring.  No doubt interesting to see how the media reported events in those days.

They will presumably have to be carefully stored due to their age.

Interestingly, the front page of the Princess Mary wedding souvenir carries a full page ad from Great Ormond Street hospital, they're £30k in debt and need donations.

What a great piece of royal history to have, be sure to add to it when King Charles111 has his coronation in June.  :D
