I’m not taking the time to read your other post…did John or Phoebe have any siblings who may have settled in Canada?

When I first started researching, I just imagined my direct ancestors settling in Ontario.  It turned out that one ancestor most likely followed his uncle to Canada.  Another couple left Ireland and settled in Ontario.  “James” parents and adult siblings and their spouses also settled in the same part of Ontario; James’ wife’s brother also ended up in Ontario.

If your couple had any siblings who ended up in Canada we might be able to find their passage, to see if they sailed to Canada or America.

Hiya Lisa,

I am afraid I dont know is the honest answer to your question.

My post on the Lincolnshire boards started off because I couldn`t find either John or Phoebe after 1881. I didn`t even realise until the replies starting coming through that Sarah Elizabeth Cobb born circa 1866 was Phoebe`s daughter.

On the 1871 UK Census it had Sarah Elizabeth Cobb aged 4 down as Dau to Head of the family Charles. So to find out Sarah Elizabeth Cobb was actually the daughter of Phoebe came as a surprise.

I was advised a long time ago to "Never assume" when carrying out family tree research but I assume Sarah Elizabeth followed or went with John and Phoebe Pearson to Canada in 1882.

DCB stated in one of his replies that Sarah Elizabeth had married a Walter Steeten (Steeden) and found them on the 1891 Canadian census living in Peel, Ontario.

Hope this makes sense  ;)

Many thanks Steve  ;D

I tried searching for any family members (including their parents) who also may have sailed c1882 but couldn’t find any.  But, I certainly wasn’t thorough, so I could have missed someone.  Sorry that I couldn’t find anything helpful.
