1917 wedding Earnest williams to Minnie Kirton.Ivybridge.

Hi folk's,a very very long shot!My Grandmothers sister was Minnie Kirton b1893 in Gateshead.
this was her given name and not a variation of any other.After the 1911 census I can find no
trace of her at all the very few women sharing her name I think I've traced as far as marriage's
etc are concerned however not recorded on free BMD but found today on Findmypast is the above
wedding I wondered if anyone knowing where to look could find any info I know it's the other end of
the country but given the fact there was a war on and she was only 24 it is possible work might have
made her travel.

I put her name into Ancestry.
There was a marriage in South Shields, July 1/4 1919, to Herbert G MARSHALL.
Ref: 10a 2168

(NB Ancestry view not very clear. Could well be 2158 as transcribed by Free BMD.)

Check out census &  GRO for births (maiden name Kirton).

There is a birth, South Shields 1920....

Many thank's folk's the Minnie kirton marriage in South Shield was known to me she was born and raised in
nearby Whitburn and is recorded in the previous Census not my relative it may by she never married or
even left the country the very few other Minnie Kirtons I have tied up the county of Marriage to a birth in
that county just this wedding I cant see where Minnie has sprang up from.

I reckon that 'Kirton' is a mistranscription by FindMyPast, looking at the image I'd say it says Kitson.

There is no Williams-Kirton marriage in the GRO civil index, but there is a likely Ernest R Williams- Minnie KITSON marriage in Plympton reg district Q2 1917
I can also see a birth for an Ernest Williams mmn Kitson in Plympton in 1920 who looks likely to be their child
