Inquest report help please

Hello

I am new to the boards so hope this is in the right place.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding a newspaper  report on an inquest for someone who died, in Canterbury, in 1951 please

Hi Daisy - you can search Newspapers on Find My Past if you have a subscription.

In addition there is the British Newspaper Archive;

This is also a subsciption site, although you do have the choice to 'Pay as you go' - if you click the 'Subscribe' box on the menu at the top of the page.

I do have a sub to Find My Past but unfortunately no luck there as they don't go to 1951 
I will try the Newspaper link and do a pay as you go.

Daisy -- there are Kent newspapers on Find My Past beyond 1951 so you could just try a search with Kent as the county and 1951 as the year.

There is a report of a death in Herne Bay, inquest Canterbury in the  Herne Bay Press 14th Dec 1951.
Not sure if the person you are looking for.
On Findmypast . just enter Inquest Canterbury into the "What else? optional"  box and narrow search by date to 1951.
It could be quite upsetting  reading, so be aware.

Thank  you  for your help I had struggled finding the report on Find My Past but your guidance really helped.
Cathy you are right it does make upsetting reading, but sadly it is the person I was looking for
