Princetown road bangor

While walking along princetown road this morning I noticed a stone built house at the ju ction with Tennyson ave with metal bars on its small windows was this building always a house or some other kind of building in eariler years

Here's a 1900-1931 map showing the immediate area. Looks like the house in question was a gate lodge for the larger house behind it.

The Belfast Telegraph, 20 July 1956, published details of the will of Dr George Ferris Campbell, 56 Princetown Road, Bangor.

The Ballymena Weekly Telegraph, 30 Dec 1955 published a tribute to "Dr George Ferris Campbell of Martello, Princetown Road, ..."

Check out the Surname "Johnston" and Townland/street "Princetown Road" on the 1911 Census. Select 1st entry "Mary A Johnston"

Page 4 of the "House and Building Return" confirms the head of household as a "Herbert Johnston" at No. 56
