1914/15 Star Query
« on: Friday 20 January 23 10:26 GMT (UK) »
Family Members of L/Cpl 127176 Albert Charles Taylor  - MM of the Machine Gun Corps
His Medal Index Card shows he only went over 1918 Demobbed Class Z on 30 April 1919
They say he also had the 1914/15 Star
Lost during House Move
Question is :-
Is it possible to have a Medal Card for 1914 to 1917 ?
Come back to UK from a France to Train in the MGC and get a new Number ?
Medal Card then only referring to New Service and there is another Card ?

At first pass 'm not seeing anything about a 1914/15 Star for him or previous service in another unit prior to the MGC. He was awarded the Military Medal in May 1919.

Not known by me
When I referred to Family
Not mine
Just trying to help them reunite with Lost Medals
I think I'll close this as ShaunJ confirms what I thought
It is highly unlikely he had 1914/15 and another Medal Card

The Family just confessed he Enlisted as 1611 in 8th Worcester Regt Territorial Force on 15 May 1912
but was Discharged as Unfit to Serve and presume never went Overseas
Hence No Medal Index Card
There are 3x Burnt Pages of his 1912 Attestation Survived
But apparently he felt he should have had a 1914/15 Star for his 1914/15 Service up to Discharged never going Overseas
Apparently he got hold of someone's Star and had Inscribed not Stamped privately which he displayed at Home as his.
