Halifax, Thrum Hall Rugby Ground, Sudden Death 1961
« on: Saturday 21 January 23 17:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi all
I have just come across a reference to my ancestor who apparently died at
Thrum Hall Rugby Ground, Halifax in 1961
The date was March 18th, which was a Saturday

I was wondering what might have actually happened.
He was 57, a heart attack perhaps ?
Could an exciting match have taken place? But which teams were playing?
I haven*t found anything online.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Rebel

Another newspaper article on 20th March simply says he ‘collapsed and died’.

Thankyou!
Just the sort of answer I was hoping for!
If the rumours are true that the price for  certificates is due to come down, I might indeed order a certificate, but otherwise it's a little off course.
Thanks for the info
