st. columb & newquay parish records
« on: Monday 23 January 23 15:54 GMT (UK) »
On the OPC clerk under baptisms for 1858 under the name Pollard, Father Michael it just says from the Royal Cornwall Gazette  Dec. 3, 1858  birth of a son.  born Nov. 30,1858. No name was mentioned.
The Mother Elizabeth Ann Pollard  died  Dec. 2,1858  & the Father Michael died in 1859.
I am trying to find a name for the son & any info. on him.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks  Sharon

There are 3 birth notices grouped together under one entry in the "Hatch, Match, Despatch" column and the entry begins "At Newquay ...". None mention the given name/s of the births.
The 3 fathers were -
Capt Abraham Ford, of the schooner Harriet, of Maldon (dau)
Capt. W Barry Williams, schooner New Parliament (dau)
Michael Pollard (son)

Newquay comes under the St Austell registration district.

The one for Richard names his Mother as Joanna.  There is a baptism for him and it is before the one I am looking for was born .

The for the census 1851 in St. Clements is the family I am looking for.

Thanks

I realise that, the point I was making is only the mothers death was registered, no death for Michael Pollard & Richard was the only birth registration in the last quarter of 1858 to the first quarter of 1859.

However I later noticed that their marriage and birth of first son son Edward Henry, both in Truro, seems to be the only  registrations they made but I may be wrong.
