Job Evans and Elizabeth from Clynnog.
« on: Wednesday 25 January 23 10:51 GMT (UK) »
Hi all :)

Job and Elizabeth are my 3GGP.
Job was born in Pistyll 1784 died in 1865.
Elizabeth was born clynnog 1793 and died in the 1850s.
I have 1841,1851,1861 c info for the above.
I am trying to find marriage for above and Elizabeth's maiden name and also any other children.
I have the following children already.
Job 1819-1890, William 1823,Evan 1828,Elizabeth 1829-1873,Robert 1832 and Jane 1838-1919.
I have also thought of possibilty that Job had previous wife considering the age gap, also Job 1819 the son could be of a different mother as i have no baptism for him but has Job as father on marriage .

I note that the only children, with there parents 1841/1851, are Elizabeth & Jane, Jane was born 1838/1839. Sadly more than one registration but as I was not able to find any marriage for Job 1800-1819, it might be worth a look?

Thanks Colin.
Yes i had burial for Job however i didnt have for Elizabeth and can confirm its correct as her address and her former address are on burial.
I will work through the baptisms as you suggested and see if i can narrow it down.

The baptisms as you mention but no Job junior and no others father Job from 1800 – 1823 on freereg.

Parents Job a Labourer and Elizabeth

Abode Clwt-y-Pant
William EVANS   Baptism   19 Oct 1823   Caernarfonshire   Clynnog Fawr : St Beuno : Parish Register

Abode   Gyrngoch
Evan EVANS   Baptism   09 Apr 1826   Caernarfonshire   Clynnog Fawr : St Beuno : Parish Register
Elizabeth EVANS   Baptism   05 Apr 1829   Caernarfonshire   Clynnog Fawr : St Beuno : Parish Register

In 1851 Elizabeth was 58 and 1860 at death 65, so born 1793 - 1797 but neither of those records at that time were always accurate.

Of all the mothers maiden names on Jane’s registration, below is the only one baptised 1790 – 1799 at Clynnog Fawr

Parents Hugh a Yeoman & Elizabeth abode Penarth
Elizabeth OWEN   Baptism   28 Jul 1799   Caernarfonshire   Clynnog Fawr: St Beuno : Parish Register

There is a baptism for a Job William, son of William Evans, in Carnguwch, near Pistyll, on 12th March 1785.

There is also a marriage of Job Williams on 3rd June 1816 to Elizabeth Owens in Penmorfa, but both from Pistill.

This might tie in with one of the birth mmn of Owen(s?)

I have messaged them and asked.

Is it possible Job was baptised and married as Williams but the changed to Evans when his own children were born. If so then it would all make sense.

There's a baptism for Job Williams son of Job & Elizabeth Williams Tyn y Garreg, at Pistyll 13 Jun 1819
Job senior's mother could have been a  Williams and father and Evans  and could have been using Williams before reverting to Evans surname
