1863 marriage look up if possible please.
« on: Thursday 26 January 23 11:41 GMT (UK) »
Just wondering if anyone has access to information or records and could kindly carry out a look up for me please.

I would like details of the 1863 Cambridgeshire marriage between John William Cobb and Caroline Eliza Burgess ( the GRO referencing being 3b 1349 ).

I understand and appreciate I could order a duplicate marriage certificate, I equally acknowledge that Cambridgeshire is a large county covering several parishes, however I have had some brilliant replies previously and I was hoping for good fortune this time too.

Many thanks in anticipation for all offers of help  ;)

Just adding that the marriage RD was Wisbech and I wonder if they actually married in Norfolk?

1871 has them living in Norfolk in the Wisbech RD sub reg Walsoken.  Caroline was b Norfolk but John was b Cambridge

I can't readily see anything AND I think that with such a high page number the marriage possibly took place in a Register Office.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Many thanks Trish for your two replies  ;D.

I have only recently kick started my family tree research. I am revisiting some of my old notes where I had previously been struggling to find an ancestor. I let my subscription to Ancestry lapse and now only use Find My Past at the local library when I get chance.

I had forgotten about FreeREG, I have tried LDS Family Search but find it difficult to navigate nowadays.........seems they have changed it compared to how I remember it previously.

Now off to check that Baptism  ;)
