Which suggests either the ages are transcribed wrong or it's not your Matilda

As I can find Edmond Godfrey b 1860 and wife Matilda b c1869 on the 1939 register, it looks like it's a different Matilda

Free index to 1921 has Matilda Berryman, born 1898, Plaistow, Essex, in Noak Hill, Dagenham.
I think Sidney is there.

Herbert Waters died  Q1 1921, buried Mountfield, Sussex. So an official remarriage for Elizabeth before 1911 seems unlikely

In 1911 could Matilda be hiding under mum's Watkins maiden name?
In the Rhondda, Glamorgan.

Note that she transcribed as Walkins on ancestry.
Head of household Charles Watkins, 67, is born Staunton on Wye (Hereford). Which was Elizabeth Waters place of birth in 1901.

That's a good find, Mabel.
So Matilda was in Wales not long after 1901, and hopefully is sorted in 1911.

Just one thing did she ever marry and when and where did she pass away

Might be matilda Watkins after 1911 ??
