WARD - a challenge….
« on: Sunday 29 January 23 14:54 GMT (UK) »
Albert WARD b. 1868, Chilham to John and Lucy. He married Emily Horton and is shown in 1901 with her in Chilham.
Emily dies in 1903 (shown as Emily Horton Ward) and Albert remarries in 1904 to Sylvia Frost.
1911 census of Pimps Cottages, Tovil, nr. Maidstone shows Bert Ward, 41, Waggoner, b. Chilham and wife Sylvia, 36, b. Petworth, Sussex. They had one living child who doesn’t appear with them.
I can find nothing of Bert and Sylvia beyond 1911. No obvious death, or future census. Albert is a common name, but Sylvia isn’t!
Can anyone with a fresh pair of eyes find them?😂😂

A published tree shows her sister, Mary Serena, went to Canada in 1911. Did Sylvia follow?

Well that’s a great start! I didn’t think about them going overseas, presuming them to be a bit old!
Sorry, I don’t know the name of the child.  I wonder where Albert is?

Strangely enough I live about an hours drive away from Hamilton, in Ontario. I imagine it would have been very rural then.

Thank you, Linda
