Workington and Whitehaven RC parish registers - Deeney and McGee
« on: Sunday 29 January 23 15:15 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I'm looking for a marriage for James Deeney/Denny/Daney to Frances/Fanny Magee/McGee/McGhee etc.  They were Catholic.

The first child of theirs that I know about was Bernard Deeney born 1840 in Liverpool.  There is no marriage under the Liverpool parish registers either RC or C of E.  It has not been registered anywhere either but may have been before 1837 registration started.

The 1841 census of Liverpool shows Frances as born outside of Lancashire but then Ireland on the 1851 census, then Warrington, Lancashire on the 1861 census.

A family tree on Ancestry suggests that her parents were Peter McGee and Jane Close who married in Distington, Cumberland C of E, had two children in Workington, then moved to Liverpool where their children were baptised RC.

Please can anyone could find the marriage record for James and Frances?

Thanks

Steve

1841 565/15/22
The family are with Jane McGee, Mary McGee, 12 yrs and others.
The baptism of Bernard (Daly?) shows Godmother as Mary J Magee..
Baptism of Mary Jane Magee, December 1828 - parents Peter Magee and Jane Close.
