Yes like my great grandfathers, returned & destroyed. It was more common then you would think.

I have tried to get the medals put you are just given the run around, past from one department to the other & then you get back to the one you started at.

I helped a Relative on my King's Liverpool Regt Facebook Group in November on a Medal Card that was noted  in Red starting Disposal date the same which I assumed was Destruction unclaimed.
Suggested they apply to MOD for Replacements

After all the Christmas holidays and Bank Holidays we had
After only a few weeks since her application in November
She sent me a Thank You - Last Week
And Photo of what was just received in the Post from the MOD
His New Medals Home
after over 100 Years

Wanted reassurance on this New Post that I wasn't miss  Reading this Card and that I did have another one Destroyed case.
