Commandant le 1er Groupe du 219e Régiment d'Artillerie
Officier supérieur d'un grand courage et d'une très grande conscience.
A amené son groupe de 200 km de l'intérieur en 48 heures, l'a fait entrer en
ligne au milieu de la nuit sous un feu violent et a contribué à repousser l'en-
nemi dès le matin du 18 Juillet 1918, à la bataille de Champagne, mal-
gré des pertes sérieuses.

Au Quartier Général, le 26 Août 1918
Le Général Gourand, commandant la 4e Armée.

Honorable Mention for Eugêne Guinet, Squadron Leader of the Fourth Army
Commanding the 1st Group of the 219th Artillery Regiment.
Superior officer of great courage and great conscience.
Brought his party 200 km from the interior in 48 hours, brought them into line in the middle of the night under heavy fire and helped push the enemy back from the morning of July 18, 1918, at the Battle of Champagne, despite substantial losses.
