update the marriage certificate has arrived, Ralph has put John Batty Ledger as his father , Eliza Hill  says she is a widow father is John Bond deceased a general labourer.

although i can only find one Elizabeth bond born around 1860/1862 in chard somerset its to a Jacob and caroline. so now hunting this down... i mean Elizabeth is not forced to put correct father is she especially after Ralph ... Eliza is 49 on cert Ralph is 36

Just to eliminate, Elizabeth Bond, daughter of Jacob, married Benjamin Aplin 7 March 1880 in Chard.

Hi, Thankyou i have seen that one, Elizabeth seems to be elusive also.. and im also stuck on the mother of Ralph, although i am awaiting her marriage cert to John Battey Ledger. this is certainly keeping my brain ticking

marriage certificate has arrived for Mary Jane Stead and John Batty Ledger , Mary puts her father as George Shires ? not even a brook as is her maiden name ?? she is also widow like we presumed.
