Catherine Arthur
« on: Wednesday 01 February 23 15:08 GMT (UK) »
Llanaber, 22 Nov 1776

Catherine ARTHUR - spinster - otp     m   Evan EVANS - bachelor - of Llandecwyn

They baptized 6 children in Llanaber, viz:-

24 May 1783   Griffith
27 Oct 1784    Elizabeth
26 Mar 1787   Margaret
15 May 1789   Susannah
07 May 1790   Philip
30 Apr 1794   David

Was there really a gap of 7 years between their marriage and the baptism of their first child, or were there baptisms elsewhere which I'm missing?

Where was Catherine baptized? Could she be one of these:-

29 Mar 1742 in Dolgellau

08 Jul 1748 in Llandrillo?

Both seem to me to be too far away.

Can anyone help, please?

On the image of the parish register, Evan Evans is noted as being from Llandecwyn, with Catherine being of the parish of Llanaber (otp).

One of the witnesses to the marriage is also an Arthur, but I cannot figure out what the first name is...
