Also a note of his retirement as Police Superintendent in 1923 due to ill health
Friday,  Feb. 16, 1923
Publication: The Daily Telegraph
A good spot!

The Hertfordshire Express, 10 May 1919, has a snippet about his recent promotion and move from Letchworth to Hitchin.
The two newspaper items fit his appearance on the Electoral Rolls at the Police address - spring 1919 to spring 1923.

There is also an item from 1898;

"Frederick William Warren was charged at Hitchin, on Tuesday, with neglecting his duty as a constable of the county of Hertford, and was fined 5l.

Hi Maddy
Thanks again, the last record appears to be between his end of army service and being recalled for South Africa duty.
Can I take you up on your offer for copies, Ive tried FindMyPast search with no luck!
