1521 plea of debt
« on: Saturday 04 February 23 13:25 GMT (UK) »
Any chance of a precis of what's happening here with particular interest in John Bullyng of Godmersham? I have a feeling it provides little information but interested in the links between these people as they are in places distant from one another.

This is been successfully answered for me most usefully by HorselyDown68 for which many thanks

Once again really excellent service on this website!!

A Citizen and Draper of London named William Chamberleyn calling in unpaid monies from his debtors.  The only link discernible is that all of the people listed are (probably) his customers.

As a Merchant of the Staple of Calais it's likely that Chamberleyn was big in the trade in wool and textiles.  John Bullyng of Godmersham, vintner, owed him five marks.
