Simson family

In one part of my tree I have John Andrew Simson, b. 1873, d. in Otago, NZ, 1933.
In another part George Henry Lindsay Simson from St Andrews, b. possibly 1880s.

Can anyone tell me whether they were from the same family?
Both appear to have been Roman Catholic.

Don't see any births in Scotland ?

On the 1881 census the family are in Markinch Fife
1901 Census he is in St Andrews

It seems they were not as closely related as I thought
(in fact it's the son of one and the daughter of the other who appear in my tree
and I thought they might be 1st cousins).
