Everything helps! Sounds logical.

Was there an address on the marriage certificate? Message to the researcher who found it.

There is a surname, of Villa, 20th Century (C20) in England

In The Gazette 1945 to 1978 there are about 6 entries for an R. W. Villa, mainly in the military.

C20
F m p has another Villa surname under American Roots, also another returning to America and there were other Villa surnames with multiple initials.

And a ... de Villa, too.

So a surname can't be ruled out.

Both helpful notes. Again, I will pass them on immediately. This is all really interesting. :)

On Free BMD

Villa surnames from Sept 1837.

Some first names suggest some might have had Italian links?

Mark, this is incredibly interesting, but given  Villa is given as the address of the second child, I suppose we stick to that. Thanks for your note. It would have addressed still more interest! You researchers are incredible!

Hi, I run a history group and have been asked if I can help locate Henry Williams for a member. Henry Williams is the son of Richard Williams. They are thought to be from a family of boatmen in Llantwit Fadre.

There are 52 Glamorgan Archive returns from the late 1600s for a ... Williams Llantwit Fardre search (also spelt Llantwit Vardre, apparently?) Where the surname Williams and place name appear in the same catalogue description.

Also one Williams archive return for the Llantwit Fadre, spelling.

Including family papers.

http://calmview.cardiff.gov.uk/

Cat. No. D140
"Williams Family, collection" 1847 to 1934 documents collected by the Williams family which relate to the Llantwit Fardre area.
 -----------
Amongst Estate papers of another family at Glamorgan Archives.

Cat No. DD/657
Feb 1712/1713
Lease for 99 years or 3 lives, Anne Edwards, widow ...

Charles Talbot of Castlemenych, esquire, and wife Cecil, to Richard Williams of Llantrisant, joiner.

Right to fix a ferry boat to lands called Ynis goy adjacent river Taff; in Llantwit Fardre
 ----------
May I suggest that someone takes the required identification and proof of name with current address (check before going) to get a Readers Ticket and check out the documents in Glamorgan Archives, or apply for images of any documents they feel might help in their family research, to see if they relate to their particular Williams of this place, or not?
