« on: Tuesday 07 February 23 09:08 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone help with the following? Cheers.

so far I have

Probation Department

Memo

The Probation stations at Westbury
and Broadmarsh will shorlty be
established under the sanction of
the Lt Governor.

May I request that the usual
authority for salaries may be issued
to the Colonial auditor - as the charge
? the storekeeper (2 salary) will
be colonial.

There have been a number of previous requests / suggestions (on previous threads) on how to provide a better quality copy of the document.
Unfortunately the current quality is rather too poor, and this limits the number of people able and willing to assist.
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)
Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)

Hi there,

Also advised on previous posts - this is the best quality I have access to. They have been provided to me - the original repository is not accessible to myself.

They appear to reduce in quality once they have been uploaded.

Cheers

I wonder if the providers would be open to a request for better copies?    :)  Or if you might be able to enlarge slightly before uploading?  :-\

Re better quality it is also important to get copies that go right to the margins at the left hand side. If these docs have been bound then an archivist will be able to help 'hold down' the area where it has been bound by carefully (& quickly) positioning weights.

I think there is a ( missing.,and I think is in the left hand margin

as the charges
(excepting the charges for the storekeepers 1/2 salary )
will be Colonial

I think:

... - as the charge
(excepting the storekeepers 1/2 salary) will
be Colonial

Modified:
Oh, I didn't realise this is more or less what shanreagh said.
