Locating Who Lived at 206 Main Street, Loogootee, Indiana

In some photos I have one (below) that has on the reverse - 206 Main Street, Loogootee, Indiana.



I'm guessing this is from around 1940, and has the woman in it is probably born around 1910. I presume she is either a relative or friend of my grandparents, who lived in Montgomeryshire, Wales, and just over the border into Shropshire, England.

I know how to identify addresses in the UK census, but not in the US census.

Does anyone have any pointers on how to locate this address, or maybe offer a helping hand?

Thanks I looked all the way through 1940, though it's not very clear what street is being covered or how the numbers are laid out.

Problem is there is 206 East Mains Street and 206 West Main Street.

So far I only discovered East -

In 1950 census only Eugene Terrell is living at 206; the Gootees are at 400.

Both of Cletus's parents are born in Indiana, though his mother is a Williams and the people who possessed this photo lived in Wales.

There is Mary Strange, born c. 1927 in the UK in Loogootee in 1950, with husband Gilbert Strange, born c. 1920 in IN. They had one daughter born in the UK. And it seems the registration is Mary Strange, b 1946 and registered in Wrexham, which is quite close to where those who possessed this photo lived. Mother's maiden name - Hughes. Younger siblings Becky Parson, Lee and Maryann Greene. Seems she was from near London and doesn't look like the woman in the photo.
