When he converted to Catholicism, he likely took a "baptismal" name which may be how Patrick was added.

Glad you posted that!  I wasn't sure if Leo was still around, based on the '49 electorals.

In the 1949  Mrs. L. P. Bradley is living with Gertrude Meyers, and Charles P Myers.
It does look like Charles uses the Myer spelling later in life, and prefers a middle name of Patrick!

2nd page shows he was going to a friends in Tacoma Washington - F. Walker
He had a wife in Moncton but just used his initials not hers.
