A long shot this one, but you never know.

 ‘Never Despair, EF, Ob. 29 Sep, -80-’. The first and final part of the date are very faint or missing, but I believe it could be 1804.

Quite an old one this one, relatively speaking.


The gold ring bears the inscription "W : DEWE · OB: 22 · NOV, 1725 · AET: 58", within a black enamel band. This inscription signifies that W. DEWE died on the 22nd of Nov, 1725, at the age of 58.
