Sadly not quite the useful bmd records. Canada has quite strict privacy law. You were lucky in British Columbia to be able to find some BMD records and a vast amount of obituaries.

Winnipeg Tribune Jul 25 1961

Clarkson - Suddenly on July 23, 1961, at St. Boniface Hospital, Vivian H. Clarkson, aged 71 years, beloved husband of Pearl Clarkson, 2B Pullmer Apartments.  Funeral service 1 pm Wednesday in the Clark Leatherdale Funeral Home, 232 Kennedy St.  Interment in Elmwood Cemetery with Canon L. Swalwell officiating.
Born in England, Mr. Clarkson came to Winnipeg over 50 years ago.  He was employed with the Manitoba Sugar Co.  Surviving are his wife one daughter, Ann, at home. By previous marriage 3 sons; also one brother in Vancouver and 1 sister in England.

No I didn't post obit for Vivian Hugh Clarkson.  Hadn't quite worked out his wives.

Pearl is also buried at Elmwood Cemetery  - June 1964
