Susanna Ilston/Illston/Illstone
« on: Saturday 11 February 23 18:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone

I'm trying to find out information on
Susanna Illston/Ilston/Illstone

Born 1798 in Sharnford, baptised on 20th Jan 1799 daughter of Jno and Elizabeth Illston

Mother of William Illstone, born 1820 in Sharnford.  No father on baptism entry.

I can't find anything else other than those 2 bits of information.  William states later on his marriage certificate that his father was Allen Sanders/Saunders. I can find him, but only as a widower and haven't established yet who his wife was.  But I don't think it was Susanna.

Any help would be gratefully received!!

Many thanks!

Lisa

Also a Susannah TAYLOR buried at Sharnford 17 Feb 1825 aged 26. A possibility.  :-\

Children born to William and Susan/nah TAYLOR at Sharnford:

4 Sep 1822    Elizabeth
3 Dec 1823   John
4 Oct 1825   John

So possibly not the burial above, unless John was baptised a few months after his birth. I can't see any other children baptised to them after this date.

William TAYLOR appears on the 1841 at Sharnford with daughter Elizabeth.

Do you have your William ILLSTONE in the 1841?

On the marriage record to William Taylor, one of the witnesses was Ann Ilston. The other witness was John Kenny.

The only Ann Ilston I can see in Sharnford, was Susanna's sister, baptised in 1801. She married Thomas Carranton on 23rd December 1824. Witnesses: Jacob and Elizabeth Huskins

On the censuses, she is Carrinton or Carrington:-

Thank you so much!
I honestly couldn't see these for looking!  And I never thought of FreeReg (which is unusual, as I always use FreeBMD).

Thanks again!
