12 Spring Garden Street, Royton
« on: Monday 13 February 23 19:46 GMT (UK) »
I have 2 burials in one plot at Royton Cemetery that have surnames I am researching, Howarth and Schofield.

I appreciate that these names are not uncommon in the area but they both appear in the same leg of the family tree.

Both deaths are given at 12 Spring Garden Street, Royton which appears to be where co-op and Lidl are now.

Can anyone shed any light on what was there previously? Deaths are dated 1918 and 1934.

Many thanks

Looking at the address throughout the various censuses, it seems to have just been a regular family home. The 1911 census says it had 4 rooms (not counting certain types of room).

I can see an Edward Schofield living there in 1939 (the latest census/register that can currently be accessed by the public).

thanks Queenie it looks to be a coincidence. There is a Margaret Howarth at no 12, no relation that I can see.

Good to know that address search is available on 1939 register......I've only been using it for years!!!!!
