St Peters Collegiate School, Eaton Square (Circa 1840)
« on: Wednesday 15 February 23 17:11 GMT (UK) »
I am researching a man who joined the East India Company in 1842 and gave as his former school, St Peters Collegiate School, Eaton Square, London.

My searches only find a primary school of that name which did not open until the 1870's.

I know this school existed as I have a copy of a letter from its headmaster dated 1841.

Any information would be highly appreciated.

Hi Paul,

The website for St. Peter's Collegiate School, Eaton Square says that "the present building was erected in 1872", not that it wasn't opened until then.

The Bishop and Duchess of Cornwall visited the school in 2015 to mark the school's bicentenary.

Quite a few mentions of the school in various English newspapers around the 1840s. I have included a snippet from a paper published in 1846.
