C19th Freemason Lodges in East Berks

Were there any lodges in the east of Berks in the 1800s and do they have any surviving records?

I would say almost certainly there would have been Lodges in East Berks. There are several places you can look for details online, for instance:
https://www.dhi.ac.uk/lane/  (comes up with 192 lodges in Berkshire, obviously only a few were in existence in 1800s)
https://www.about-freemasonry.co.uk/uk-lodges.php
http://www.masonicsourcebook.com/
https://www.ugle.org.uk/become-freemason/join-freemasonry/register-your-interest?proximity - once on the site scroll down to below the map and type in 'East Berks' or the name of a town to see the location of current day lodges.

Then once you have found a likely lodge or lodges, check what the Museum of Freemasonry holds in the way of old records. They are very helpful, and if you can get to London, well worth a visit to consult their extensive library.

Also check Ancestry as many of the old Lodge membership records have been digitised.
