help with RM service record

hello. I am trying to work out my fathers WW2 service record. I know he spent some time in Burma as I have his Burma Star medal, but that is all I know. He didnt talk about his war service.

His record reads:
HBL MNBDO (1) Marine 16/2/40-14/1/41
HBL MNBDO (2) Marine 26/10/42-30/10/42
HBL RM Division Marine 31/10/42-29/10/43
HBL RM SS Bde Marine 30/10/43-21/1/46

I have no idea what any of this means, and would really appreciate any help. Thank you.

HBL = Home Based Ledger

MNBDO = Marine Naval Base Defence Organisation.

I see there is a gap in your list from 14/1/41 to 26/10/42 - is this covered by a posting to Burma?

Thank you. Yes that is correct, he served in Burma.

I can't tell from just MNBDO precisely where he was posted - I suppose it could have been at any of the naval bases in the UK, not necessarily the HQ near Plymouth.
