According to your profile you are based in Northumberland.
Newcastle Central library have the old newspapers on microfilm, if you can find their death notices they may tell you which cemetery they were buried in which would help.

Or look at the British newspaper archive https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk if you have sub (also available via Find My past) if you can't get to the library.
If it more recent ( early 2000s to present) then this site is useful
https://funeral-notices.co.uk

I believe that the library also has some burial registers on microfilm, or you could try Family Search which has the following listed for Newcastle -some but not all are viewable online:

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=19517&query=%2Bplace%3A%22England%2C%20Northumberland%2C%20Newcastle-upon-Tyne%22&subjectsOpen=372963-50

and Tyne and Wear Archives user guide
https://twarchives.org.uk/collection/user-guides-and-information
shows which burial registers they hold on microfilm

The Crematorium at West Rd has its book of remembrance online, if any of your folk chose cremation (though not everyone placed an entry in the book)

It sounds to me like the cemetery you might be after is St Andrew & Jesmond Cemetery.
It is on the opposite side of the Town Moor and over the Great North Road.  You can't see it from the road but there is a little pathway lane (about 1 minutes walk) that will take you to the entrance.
Newcastle City library (local studies) holds the burial registers for this and the other Newcastle cemeteries (with the exception of St James, Benwell) and also has a volume of what must be thousands of memorial inscriptions there.
Can you get to the library?
If not, just give a name and date and I will check for you when I next can (possibly within next few weeks).

I added some cemetery related photos on Find A Grave a couple of years ago.  Click on the cemetery 'photos'.  One of my photos shows a photo of a white door - this is the entrance you can get to via walking down the little lane on opposite side of the town moor over from Great North Road.  Don't worry, it is not a lonely lane or isolated.  This can be seen fully by people travelling along Great North Road and there are always people walking through the cemetery.

It even has it's own small community orchard within the cemetery! :)
This link shows a map and you can see the lane on it which leads up to the cemetery.  It literally is just a minute's walk.

If it is St Andrew & Jesmond,  those burial registers are available to view on Family Search
