Absolutely, Jon!

He's by FAR my most enigmatic ancestor ... but one by one, with the help of many in this magnificent community, I've been breaking down the brick walls.

My narrative account of his life is a Word document running to 9 pages and 57 footnote references ... and it's still not complete! But we're getting there.

(I'm still looking for Edgar Spooner's baptism, mind ... circa 1815, supposedly born in London but possibly in Colchester ... father is Michael Thomas Spooner ... )

  Looking at this again yes there a bunch of threads about

 Edgar Spooner King.

 I'm hopeless at links but enter his name in the search facility and they will come up.
 I suggest having a read of all of them.

I have read them, tazzie ... I started them!

Bit by bit I have been piecing his remarkable story together ... and jon has given vast amounts of assistance in that.

Now I'm moving on to his wife ... I didnt' SAY that, but jon clearly figured it out

I notice that in 1871 Edgar and his family were at 10 Artillery Lane, Bishopsgate. Recorded as King.
Just a few doors away from my Llewellyn family at 5&6. Minus the late John, who, like Edgar, was a tailor.
So the families must have come across each other

hold onto your hats folks ... jon is probably about to discover that my supposed ancestors were actually the illegitimate offspring of his, and his were the illegitimate offspring of mine!

(With this lot there's not much left that can surprise me ... )
