NORWAY Birth or Baptism Certificate Questions
« on: Thursday 23 February 23 07:10 GMT (UK) »
Hello all

I need some help with the attached document.  Olaf is the person in question, he is one of my 3 x GGF.

Is this a birth certificate or baptism record?  I see 2 dates, is one birth, the other baptism?

1.  What is the word in the column after his name?

2. What is the word before his parents names?  What is the underlined word after parents names?

3. What are the names in the next column?  Are they siblings?  Could you please write these out for me?

4.  What does it says in the last column?

Thank you so much.

Cullen - Leitrim, Ireland/Geelong, Australia
James - Portugal/St Croix/Geelong and Ballan, Australia
McNair -  Stirlingshire and Lanarkshire, Scotland

Where did you get this from? There should be headings at the top of the page if you can see the full page.  Looks like a baptism book so, date of birth date of christening.

I think the column after his name is for "legitimate/illegitimate" (he was legitimate).
Word after his parents' names looks like their residence.
Other names will be godparents/witnesses.
I think the last column is usually for comments but I can't read it.
