I asked the same on the Facebook Group a while ago stating why can't they use OpenStreet Map as quite a few other programs do as this is a useful feature for many.
From the replies, most people have a similar feeling of the program seems to be abandoned since it was purchased by My Heritage and that as they now own two Family Tree Programs they seem to only concentrate and promote Family Tree Builder
A few suggestions came back saying to use another program called ' Map My Family Tree '
https://progenygenealogy.com/products/family-maps/ and works with the below, but is quite an additional cost when Legacy already had the ability to do the same built in.
Rather than use two different programs I took the decision to do a restart / refresh and so am now trying GRAMPS
https://gramps-project.org/blog/ and Heredis ( preferring at the moment )
https://www.heredis.com/en/ but this does appear to have poor support for english speaking questions, but I go on their French Forum and then use a browser extension to translate the pages to english
