Hamilton / St Paul, Ontario records
« on: Friday 24 February 23 19:54 GMT (UK) »
Are there any online records I could search for St Paul and/or Hamilton, Ontario.  I'm interested in death records and census records?

Canada does not have a BMD index as does the UK.  What time frame are you looking for ?

hi Sandra - i'm working on a possible lead - my ancestor was born in England in 1889 and i've found a couple of possibles on the Electoral Roll (1930s).  The ER doesn't give an age so i was hoping to find a census record for the 1930s or a death record (although i have no idea when she died).

Yes, that's my thread in the Common Room.  I've been on Ancestry just now and found possible matches in the Electoral Registers.

Would you like to give a name so that someone can look for you ?

There is the Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid - not comprehensive but might be worth a try

Thank you for the link - i'll take a look.  My ancestor's name was Amy BRYANT, born 1889 in Bristol.  I have found no trace of her in England after 1909 so believe she emigrated.  I've checked Passenger Records etc but can't find a match.  I'm probably clutching at straws but I'm not giving up yet :)

What was her occupation ? Any other relatives in Canada ?

She isn't the Amy Bryant in  British Columbia who passed away in 1958 - she was married and had a middle name Lucy.

Did she have a middle name?  Would you know her exact birthdate, please?  Also, what were her parents’ names, please?
