Goodna Asylum for the insane, admission records
« on: Monday 27 February 23 15:21 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the admission records for Goodna, around 1888-1891 - are these available online?  I have looked at the Archives website and couldn’t find anything obvious?

My ancestor Walter Ward arrived in Mackay, from England, in 1888, age 21, along with his brother Barling. Barling returned to England in 1891, and in his notes is a reference to a brother in Australia being in an asylum, presumably Walter.

Thank you, Linda

Thank you!  Yes, Barling did end up in an asylum in England and it’s in the notes from there is the reference to the other brother.

Much appreciated, Linda
