Harrisons of Heddon
« on: Tuesday 28 February 23 19:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi All, can anyone take me a little further back with my family tree?
I have a Joseph Harrison born 1720, married in Newburn 1-6-1740 to Susanna Robson born 1711.
I have info on Susanna's father and Grandfather back to 1656, but it's really the Harrison line I'm interested in mostly (my name)
Of course I could be totally wrong all together!!
Any help or assistance would be appreciated.
Best Regards

It looks like their children were baptised at  Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland

First four children if I am correct from family search are Alice, William, Sarah, Susanna. They also had a son Matthew in 1751.

I do not see a baptism for Susanna in 1711 but this on freereg, also on family search. Father Matthew

Susanna ROBSON   Baptism   02 Mar 1713   Northumberland   Newburn : St Michael and All Angels : Other Transcript

If they followed the English naming pattern Josephs father was likely to be William.

There are two baptisms below father William on freereg,
However earlier than you mention, they may be worth a look.

Jsp. HARRISON   Baptism   22 Mar 1705   Northumberland   Allendale : St Cuthbert : Other Transcript

Joseph HARRISON   Baptism   26 Sep 1705   Northumberland   Ovingham: St Mary the Virgin : Other Transcript

Also this on family search.
Joseph Harrison   Baptism 21 April 1712 St Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland   Parents Willm Harrison, Mary

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

Hi, Colin thank you for your prompt reply, really appreciated.
I think the problem was the Harrison's had too many Josephs in their lineage!!
Best Regards
