1841 Census has under Edward age 3 wks;

Thomas Shirvell   51 Salt Maker

(age a little hard to make out may be 57)

I think it's a 7 not a 1, but he may be 67. Not very clear.

There are several children baptised in Gosport / Alverstoke to Thomas and Ann - last one in 1837, but no Charles. On first two baptisms Thomas is a mariner, on later ones a labourer, never a salt maker. I think there are two Thomas's, the one who married Ann born in Fareham, the one with Charles and family may be the one baptised in Lymington s/o John and Mary.

Possibly found Thomas and Ann in Alverstoke in 1841. He's now a fishmonger

The Thomas baptised in Fareham had parents Thomas and Elizabeth, as did a Jane Shervill bapt in Fareham in 1791. Could she be the witness to Thomas's marriage?
