The Elizabeth Elliot who is named as a sponsor on RC Baptism of Alfred, Arthur & Everard I believe she is daughter of Henry & Hannah (Blackwell) who married George Elliot

On the RC Baptism records for four of the children I posted with mother maiden name Blackwell

Minnie Bexton 1863 (name Philomina)
(Philomina Bexon sponsor on the baptisms for Gertrude & Helena)

Elizabeth 1865
At the bottom of her baptism added is an annotation 1885 matrimonium contraxit cum (a contract with) Georgio ELLIOT

Elizabeth & George married on 6 Apr 1885 at St Winefride, her father name Henrici

There are baptisms for Alfred Bexton Birth 12 May 1886 05 Sep 1886 and Arthurus (Arthur) Birth 04 Apr 1891 Baptism 10 May 1892 both showing mother Joannae maiden name SUTTON, sponsor on both Elizabeth Elliot

1891 the family were boarding at a local pub.    Henry, Jane and their children including a one day old infant.  This info was taken on 5th April 1891.  One day after the date of birth you have for Arthur Bexon (although it does say 1892 could be an error?).

Oops  ::) that was my typing error Arthur born 1891 baptism 1892 - have amended

BEXON, ARTHUR    mmn   HILL

So it looks like the sponsor for Henry & Janes children is their older half sibling from their fathers first marriage to Hannah.   How interesting.

Not found them yet on 1861/51 census to see if they have a daughter Jane

Taken a look back at the above family to see if I can tie in a Jane Hill born c1845 Hanley -nothing obvious as there's no Jane with them

I think Thomas Hill born c1825 Hanley Castle Worcester may have been married previously

1871 Garendon Cottage, Garendon, Loughborough, Leicestershire
Thomas Hill   Head   1825   Transcribed as Staffordshire actual image Hanley Castle Worcester

If I've got the correct birth entries from GRO indexes it looks as if the children named on 1871/1861 censuses mmn STONE

1861 census

Question - is boarder William Hill Thomas' father? And is this William on 1851 census with a granddaughter named Jane   :-\

Thanks this is quite interesting 51 pick street is where the original Catholic Church was in Shepshed. So this may be an adjoining house.  A new larger Catholic Church was built and the people buried in the church grounds were taken to the local cemetery.

Interesting to see the place of birth for Cathrine Hill was Worcester I think that was one of the places Jane had in one of the C documents I forget which years.
