For information :-

1864-1946

Marriage registrations normally include the following information for both the bride and groom, although many details will be missing from the early records:

place of marriage
date of marriage
given name and surname
trade or profession
marital status
age
religious denomination
place of residence
place of birth
name of parents
place of birth (or residence) for parents

I don't know if this direct link will work:
https://archives.novascotia.ca/vital-statistics/marriage/?ID=215825

Here, Leslie Wm Stacey is shown as being born in N.S. and parents are Fred. Stacey and Edith Chivers.

I am thinking that perhaps the bride supplied the info, and assumed the W. was for William and that he was born in N.S.?

His parents should be Frank Stacey and Emma Chivers.  They were married in Wells, Somerset 1902.
The GRO reference for Wilfred's birth
STACEY, WILFRED  LESLIE      CHIVERS
GRO Reference: 1907  S Quarter in WELLS  Volume 05C  Page 403

In 1911 Mom Emma and her 3 children, Dorothy, Wilfred, and Molley are in a workhouse.
Emma also had a son Leonard Charles Chivers born in 1897, but he is off working in 1911.*
So far, I can't find Dad Frank in 1911.

There is a sailing of a Wilfred Stacey coming to Canada at age 19, but I am not convinced that is him, as he states he is from Barnsley (Yorkshire).  I am wondering if he ended up being a Home Child?

*  His GRO has him as illegitimate, but his baptism shows his parents as Edwin and Emma Chivers..

Confusing family!

Didn't think this one looked quite right.

One of the trees quotes a UK and Ireland, Outward Passenger Lists, 1890-1960 for Leslie Stacey.
11 September 1913 - Ansonia. Southampton to Quebec.

Alice Stacey - housewife - 24 years - Bournemouth
Hariod - child - 2 years - Bournemouth.
Leslie - child - 6 (this is in a different column so although 6 years - could be 6 months !!) - Bournemouth

Re the above there is a 1911 census 57 Muscliffe Rd, Winton, Bournemouth.

Ernest John Stacey   19
Alice Maud Stacey   20
Harold Stanley Stacey  1 month.

Family are living in Pelham, Welland Ontario in 1921.

So this helps discount the passenger list quoted on the family tree.

Sadly, there is the death of a young child recorded in 1941. Parents Leslie and Mary (Osborne). Father was the informant and gave his birthplace as England.

The image is available in the Nova Scotia Arcives website.
