Adding a web site when answering queries.
« on: Friday 03 March 23 11:28 GMT (UK) »
I am a dumbo with some things to do with my computer.

Can some kind, patient person tell me (in dumbo language) how to add a site when answering a query?
This would be more succint than a long winded type written one.....specially in my phone.
I see all you helpers doing this, but for the life of me, can't see how.
Much appreciated,
Chris

If using a mouse - Highlight the web address link in the long box at the top of your screen by right clicking on mouse - that should give you the option of COPY

Go to wherever you want to post that link & click on PASTE

If using an iPad - tap on the address to highlight it then tap again and select COPY
Go to wherever you want to post that link.  Tap screen & click on PASTE

Dyingout, with great respect, I don't think the way you have shown the OP is really helpful to someone who says they are 'a dumbo with some things to do with my computer'

If the OP just pastes a link as described by CaroleW, provided it is a valid link (http://www etc) the forum software will automatically recognise it as such and display it as a clickable link. Getting involved with HTML or BBcode is an unnecessary complication for a beginner.
